BALLSTON LAKE, NY — The Burnt Hills Ballston Lake Business & Professional Association and the Ballston Lake Improvement Association are seeking volunteers to join in with scores of local residents, business people and town authorities who will be participating in the community’s annual Clean Up Day on Saturday, May 6. Volunteers will gather at the Ballston Lake Fire Department, on Route 146-A. All are welcome to participate including family groups, scout troops, individuals and students in need of community service projects. The annual event, which dates back to the mid-1970s is organized as a partnership with the Ballston Lake Improvement Association (BLIA), the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Business and Professional Association (BH-BLBPA) and the Town of Ballston.
The project involves doing a clean sweep of accumulated winter debris on local roadways. Participants are urged to wear gloves and closed toed shoes. Volunteers can pick up their assignments, and receive free tee shirts, refreshments and trash bags at 8 AM at the Ballston Lake Fire House on May 6.
The Town of Ballston has announced town-wide bulk waste pick up in association with County Waste will begin on May 29 4th. Bulk waste should NOT be placed at curbs until then.
