Schrader and Company was founded in 1973 by Peter Schrader and his wife Christy in Burnt Hills, New York. From humble beginnings—Peter Schrader working alone on job sites, pulling nights, holidays, and weekends to build both craftsmanship and reputation —the firm has grown into a well-regarded, full-service remodeling, construction and custom cabinetry business serving homeowners, contractors, and commercial customers in southern Saratoga County and the greater Capital Region.
Key to its evolution has been the addition over time of skilled staff and expansion of facilities: the company now operates out of an 8,000-square-foot facility that includes offices, a showroom, and a modern cabinetry and millwork shop. Their services encompass kitchen and bathroom remodeling, additions, whole house renovations, historic restoration, custom cabinetry and millwork.
In 2013, Schrader and Co underwent a succession of ownership: President Ben Cangeleri and Vice-President Silas Schrader officially took over the business operations, marking the transition to second-generation leadership while affirming its status as a veteran-owned company. Both Peter and Silas have military service, and this heritage forms part of the company’s identity.
Throughout its history, Schrader and Co has built a solid reputation for quality craftsmanship, professionalism, integrity, and customer service. The company has also taken strong roles in community involvement and charitable work, supporting local non-profits, conservation efforts, arts organizations, and local service initiatives.
Today Schrader and Company stands as a locally rooted, respected business with a legacy of more than 50 years, continuing to combine traditional craftsmanship with modern design tools and engaging with the community it serves.
